Students Explore German Heritage in Frankenmuth, Michigan
A total of 16 Ken-Ton German language students enjoyed an educational trip to Frankenmuth, MI, also known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria," last June.
The four-day trip was organized by Anne Cruzan, German language teacher, and included 11 students from Hoover Middle, one from Franklin Middle, and four from Kenmore East High School. In addition to learning about the rich German heritage and architecture of Frankenmuth and the history and life of German immigrants in the U.S., they also stayed in a water park hotel, ate German food, took a river boat ride, completed an aerial tree course with zip-lining, went through a mirror maze, made their own pretzels and candles, and more.
The next trip is set for June 26-29, 2019. Interested German language students should contact Frau Crusan via email at acrusan@ktufsd.org for an application and more information.
