As Members of Buffalo Girlchoir, 3 Lindbergh Elementary Students Perform With BPO
Students Grace Coheley, Elin Freeman and Ella Roberts with Lindbergh Elementary instrumental teacher Miranda DelBello
Three talented Lindbergh Elementary School students recently had the opportunity to join the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus as part of their recent concert, “Carmina Burana.”
It was a tremendous achievement for third-grade students Grace Coheley and Elin Freeman and fourth-grade student Ella Roberts. The three students are members of the Buffalo Girlchoir, which is led by Kathleen Bassett and represents approximately 30 talented students from across the Buffalo area.
The ensemble joined the BPO and its Chorus for their performance of “Carmina Burana,” a cantata from the 1930s by composer Carl Orff that is based on a medieval collection of poems.
“Our three Lindbergh kids made me so proud,” said Miranda DelBello, instrumental music teacher at Lindbergh Elementary, who was in attendance for the concert. “The Girlchoir was extraordinary, immensely professional, and they very impressively sang in Latin. It is such a rare opportunity for someone their age to perform on stage with hundreds of professional adults, and for a packed audience at Kleinhans Music Hall.”
