The Kenmore/Grand Island/Lockport girls hockey team is once again playing for a NYSPHSAA Championship.
KenGI-Port finished at the top of the Western New York Standings at the end of the regular season and wrapped up the Section VI Tournament with a 4-0 win over Niagara County. It was the team's 7th section title in 12 years.
Next up for KenGI-Port, who's currently 15-1 on the season, is the state semifinals this weekend in Utica. They'll play in the semifinal round Friday at 8 p.m. against Clinton (Section III). The winner will advance to the state championship on Saturday. KenGI-Port beat Clinton 2-1 earlier this season.
