Ken-Ton Recognizes 2021-22 Section VI Champions
July 5th was an extremely proud day for the Ken-Ton School District as Superintendent Cimato and the Board of Education honored teams and athletes who won the Section VI Championship in their respective sports during the 2021-22 school year.
The evening began with a wonderful performance of the National Anthem by Kenmore East student Alison Wakefield, who was present as a member of the Kenmore East Unified Bowling Team. Alison has performed the National Anthem at several home and away games over the course of the season.
The following teams and athletes were recognized:
- Kenmore/Grand Island Girls Ice Hockey (coached by Jeffrey Orlowski, Matthew Miller, and Marc Bourgeault), which won the Section VI Championship
- Kenmore East Unified Bowling (coached by Keith Brophy and Robert O'Connor), which won the Section VI Championship in their division
- Kenmore West Unified Basketball (coached by Daniel Hannon, Ryan Hogan, and Jeffrey Martin), which won the Section VI Championship in their division
- Kenmore East Track & Field 4x800 Relay Team (coached by Tim Metivier), which won the Section VI Championship (students were Joshua Alderman, Ramy Ben Jab Allah, Henry Morris, Sidney Morris, Andrew Roland, and Dillon Sujka)
- Jacob Willard from the Kenmore Boys Bowling Team (coached by Robert Howard), who was the Section VI individual champion
- Brady Garcia from the Kenmore Boys Swimming Team (coached by Nick Sereday), who was the Section VI 500m Free individual champion
- Emma Jones from the Kenmore Girls Swimming Team (coached by Nate Bourke), who was the Section VI 500m Free individual champion
- Kenmore West Unified Bowling (coached by John Haynes and Kimberly Zuccari) also won the Section VI Championship in their division
