Students Enjoy Visits from Martial Arts Expert, Career Professionals
Students at Holmes Elementary School recently had the opportunity to enjoy a visit by a martial arts expert for a special PBIS assembly and several professionals for a career festival.
Lisa Susko from Jindo Martial Arts visited Holmes Elementary recently to present to students on self-control and kindness for a PBIS "Stepping It Up" assembly.
Students who earned "Stepping It Up" sneakers for demonstrating outstanding character and promoting a positive school environment were randomly selected to come up and brake wooden boards with Susko's guidance.
Then, Kristine Piezconka, social worker at Holmes Elementary, provided all students with the opportunity to meet and ask questions of several professionals during the Holmes Elementary Career Festival.
Volunteers included firefighters from the Town of Tonawanda; David Harter, a community contractor; Brian Esseltine, railroad worker; and Officer Infantino, a corrections officer.
