Students Write Letters of Appreciation to Retiring K9 Officer, Dog

Katie Nadrowski's fourth-grade class at Franklin Elementary School recently learned how to write friendly letters. To practice what they learned, the students wrote letters of appreciation to Town of Tonawanda police officer Brent Costello of the K9 Unit and his police dog Tank.

In the letters, the students congratulated Officer Costello and Tank on their retirement, as both would be retiring at the end of January.

Officer Costello and Tank came to Franklin Elementary to visit the class, and the students used the opportunity to read the letters they had written, to express their appreciation for their service, and to wish them both the best in their retirement!
