All substitute teachers can earn up to $2,000 per year for completing staff development coursework while also being able to join the New York State Retirement System, building credit toward retirement. The district also has full-time Building-Based Substitute positions in each of its schools with a starting salary of $28,000 per year. Building-based substitutes have the added benefit of receiving dental and vision coverage and seven days of paid leave annually.
