Franklin Middle teacher Joe Stawisuck is a gold medalist!

Stawisuck recently represented the United States at the Ball Hockey 5vs5 World Cup of Nations event in Buffalo. He played on Team USA 1 in the Legends bracket (players over 45 years old) with his team beating Canada 3-2 in a shootout.

Also competing in the Legends bracket were teams from the United States, Canada, Ontario, North America, and Great Britain.

Ball hockey has the same rules as ice hockey, but players run instead of using skates or rollerblades. Last year, Stawisuck played for Team North America in the Dominican Republic.
