Ken-Ton Students Given Opportunity to "Shop with a Cop"

More than 70 Ken-Ton students in Gr. 4-7 received an amazing holiday experience, one that helped to lift their spirits and make the holiday season a little more special.

The Town of Tonawanda Police Department held their annual Shop with a Cop fundraiser on Wednesday, December 4th at the Target on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Students shopped around with Police Officers, Detectives, Paramedics, Dispatchers, Student Cadets, Buffalo Sabres Alumni, and Buffalo State University student-athletes.

“The idea is to take kids that will not have much of a Christmas at home or could use the extra Christmas love,” Captain Joseph Milosich of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department said.

Each kid received a $100 Target gift card (thanks to TOT Police Department in-house fundraisers) to spend on themselves and our students found a lot of really great gifts! Schools that took part in the event included Hoover Middle, Franklin Middle, Kenmore Junior/Senior High School, Hoover Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Holmes Elementary, Edison Elementary, and Lindbergh Elementary.

Special thanks to all those involved in making this an extremely special night for our Ken-Ton students and their families!
