Community Drum Circle Coming on January 20th

Have you heard about the benefits of Community Drum Circles? Community Drum Circles are a chance for individuals to share the spirit of togetherness while playing percussion instruments.

Ken-Ton Community Education will be hosting a Community Drum Circle on January 20th from 7:00-8:30 PM at Kenmore West High School. You can register at or by calling (716)874-8500 ext 32621.

This one-night Drum Circle is open to anyone and you do not have to be a Ken-Ton resident to participate.
Participants will sit in chairs and participate by playing drums and other percussion instruments. All instruments are provided, but participants can also bring their own. This Community Drum Circle is open to anyone age 13 and older, with any (or no) music or percussion knowledge.

Drum circles promote wellness, provide stress relief, allow for self-expression, build community and allow individuals to find a comfort zone on their instrument. Drums circles can be a great “Date Night” for couples!
This drum circle “class” will be a facilitated drum circle.

The facilitator will teach basic rhythms and techniques throughout the class. Activities and games will be included to allow each participant to feel more comfortable on the drum. There will be plenty of time for the participants to play freely as they explore rhythms and techniques that are learned in the class.
The ultimate goal of the class is for participants to add to the groove established by the group and make the ensemble a cohesive unit.

Participants with drum circle experience are encouraged to participate since no two drum circles are the same!
