Kenmore East Senior Wins 3rd in WNY Stock Market Challenge
We are extremely proud to recognize Kenmore East High School senior Jack Sahi, who won 3rd place in Junior Achievement's recent Stock Market Challenge! This a major annual event that simulates real-life stock buying and selling and challenges students to strategically grow their initial investment as much as possible over a specified amount of time (this year's event was virtual, spanning a 30-day period). With approximately 650 students from throughout WNY competing, and coming within just 4% of 1st place, this was an extraordinary achievement.
Jack worked extremely hard over the course of this competition, devoting his free periods and time after school to learning about different stocks and following current events as they impacted the market as a whole and individual stocks. He was honored at a special ceremony on December 15th by Nancy Pray, Career Academy Coordinator; Business Teacher James Rustowicz; Alicia Ivancie, Education Director of Junior Achievement of WNY; and Superintendent Sabatino Cimato and he received several prizes including gift cards and a brand new iPad courtesy of Junior Achievement.
We were proud to see a Kenmore East student among the top three finishers at this competition. Please join us in congratulating Jack!
