Hoover Elementary Winter Fun
Students at Hoover Elementary School have been busy since returning from winter recess with debut performances by instrumental students, the Buffalo Bills/Independent Health Play 60 Challenge, and a performance by the Kenmore East Harmony Dancers.
In January, Ms. Regan and Ms. Odrobina's fourth-grade instrumental students made their debut performances in small groups to various classrooms throughout the school.
In February, the Kenmore East Bulldog mascot and the Kenmore East Harmony Dancers came to Hoover Elementary to perform songs and dance in order to spread kindness and promote acceptance and tolerance. Some Hoover Elementary students who earned special pink PBIS tickets for being kind were asked to join performers on stage to dance together with Principal Huff.
Briella MacLeod from Lisa Chavaroli's second-grade classroom was selected out of all the students whose classrooms are participating in the Independent Health-sponsored Play 60 Challenge to win a licensed, autographed Buffalo Bills sweatshirt, T-shirt, and helmet, along with a certificate recognizing her participation. The program is geared toward encouraging healthy lifestyle habits in school-age children. Briella has participated in one hour per day of physical activity; taste-tested healthy foods such as peppers, pomegranates, and golden berries; and pledged to get nine hours of sleep each night in order to be her healthy best.
