May 21, 2019 Election & Exit Survey Results

The annual Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District Budget Vote and Board of Education Election took place on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Residents of the school district had the opportunity to vote on two propositions: the proposed 2019-20 school district budget and the annual bus purchase. They also voted on candidates for two seats on the Board of Education.

Voting results were as follows:

  • Proposition 1, the proposed 2019-20 school year budget, was approved by voters (yes votes: 1,412; no votes: 298).
  • Proposition 2, the annual bus purchase, was approved by voters (yes votes: 1,345; no votes: 361).
  • There are two terms on the Board of Education that will begin July 1, 2019 and end June 30, 2022. These seats will go to the two candidates who received the highest number of votes. The two candidates who received the highest number of votes were Matthew Chimera, who received 1,210 votes, and Thomas Reigstad, who received 1,113 votes. Christine Cavarello received 772 votes.
