    Cisco Computer Networking Academy

The Cisco Computer Networking Academy consists of two courses:

    Computer Networking 1.

Welcome to the world of hubs, switches, and routers, in other words, the world of networking. Learn what goes on behind the scenes at a LAN party. This hands-on class explores the ways that computers can be connected in order to talk to each other. Build the internet right in the classroom while learning to troubleshoot and solve the many different problems that can be encountered.

College credit can also be awarded for completing the coursework.

Please note: The Computer Networking Academy can be used to satisfy the third year of Math requirement.

    Prerequisites: none

    Grade Levels: 10, 11, 12

40 Weeks – 1 Unit Tech or Math

    Assessment: Local

    Computer Networking 2.
Computer Networking 2 continues to explore the world of computer networks at a more in-depth level. Students will design and build networks based on what was learned during Academy 1. Students will explore configuring IP addresses, preparing the initial configuration of a router, and adding routing protocols to the router configuration.
Although it is not necessary to complete both years while in Ken-Ton Schools, students enrolling in Computer Networking 1 & 2 will be prepared to take the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) exam at the completion of the second course.
