Since 1 March 2012 Kenmore East High School
is an International Baccalaureate
World School authorized to offer the Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum for academically motivated college-bound students in the junior and senior year of high school. It leads to a special diploma from the International Baccalaureate Organization, or to certificates in individual IB subjects, in addition to the student's New York State diploma.. The program combines rigorous academics and assessment with extracurricular activities in sports, the arts, and community service. It can open opportunities for college credit and advanced placement, scholarships, and acceptance in highly selective colleges and universities.
Only Kenmore East, Kenmore West and City Honors offer the Diploma Program in Erie county. Across New York State 51 other IB World Schools offer the Diploma Program and over 780 do in the United States. Internationally, IB diploma programs number over 2,000, in more than 130 countries.
Parents or students who have questions about the program should use the links below to learn more or email Paul Lasch, the IB coordinator at Kenmore East.
