Student Recognized By BOCES Harkness Center

Erie 1 BOCES Harkness Career & Technical Center has selected Maria Ta, a senior from Kenmore East High School, as their featured student for the month of December. Maria is currently enrolled in the Legal Academy under the instruction of Dr. Wendy Fischer. Maria was selected by the staff and administration from the BOCES career center because of her exemplary academic achievement, generous spirit with peers and admirable recommendations provided by her internship contacts. Maria entered the Legal Academy, which meets daily at Medaille College, to explore law related careers. She plans to pursue a career in international law - with her sights set on becoming a human rights attorney.

As part of the public education model, Erie 1 BOCES offers more than 25 career and technical programs to high school students in Erie County. High school students interested in learning more about how they can participate in various programs such as the Legal Academy, computer networking, TV and sound production during their normal school day should visit //www.e1b.org/cte or speak with their high school counselor.
