    • Thank you for visiting the Water Testing Page. The purpose of this page is to provide resources and information on water testing that is being conducted in schools across New York State to comply with legislation that was signed into law on September 6.

In accordance with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines, all sources of potable drinking water in school buildings are to be tested for lead and an action level of 15 ug/l (parts per billion, or ppb) was set. School districts must notify the NYSDOH and parents/guardians of outlets that exceed the action level. Also, any outlets that exceed the action level must be taken out of service (unless it is used for hand or dish washing) and can only be returned to service after remediation and follow-up testing finds them to be below the action level. If the outlet is used for hand or dish washing, it must include signage with writing and pictorial representations clearly indicating that it may not be used for drinking.

As in districts across WNY and NYS, when testing results are received by the school district, letters are being sent home to parents/guardians in individual school buildings notifying them of the results. Reports will be posted here as soon as they are available and will also be available for viewing between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1500 Colvin Blvd., Buffalo, NY 14223.

Below, you will find individual building reports (as they become available) and links to additional information.

Click here for more information on the water testing, which will be included in letters to parents/guardians.
