Dear Ken-Ton Community,

We were heartbroken to learn that 18-year-old Aung Hla, who graduated from Kenmore West High School in June, was involved in a tragic accident yesterday morning. Search efforts remain underway and our hearts go out to Aung’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all those who educated and supported him as a student.

We have assembled a team of professionals who are available to support students, staff, and families. All families are welcome to take advantage of these resources, which will be available from 12 to 3 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, July 24th) at Kenmore West High School. We are also extremely fortunate to have our Family Support Center, which offers family and individual counseling and connections with other service providers. The Family Support Center is a free resource available for all students/staff and their families. We are grateful for the work of emergency responders who are continuing the search and will update the community as additional information becomes available. This is an extremely difficult time for the entire Kenmore West High School community and we join everyone in hoping for a safe outcome while keeping his family and loved ones in our thoughts.
