This is the seventh and final year Mr. and Mrs. Gleason have children enrolled at Edison and they have been known for their outstanding support through the years. The Edison community often comes together in support of various causes, from building water wells in Africa to supporting the Jerry Starr SleepOut through the annual Links4Love campaign. Mr. and Mrs. Gleason have gone above and beyond to ensure the success of these initiatives. They are known for being extremely positive, upbeat, and always supportive of the teachers and staff.

If you’ve walked along Delaware Road near Kenmore West, you are probably familiar with the home of Dave Brenon and Jeff Rodgers who maintain one of the most beautiful gardens in Ken-Ton. What began as just a few shrubs and flowers has been transformed into a magnificent garden that encompasses both their front and back yards. Best of all, Dave and Jeff actively encourage the community to enjoy their garden. They welcome everyone, not just during the Ken-Ton Garden Walk, which they help organize, but throughout the growing season.

David Peters is a Kenmore West High School alumnus who plays a very special role in our community. David overcame an auditory processing disorder to achieve incredible success while one of our students. He also broke down barriers, demonstrating that students with disabilities can excel and be an active part of the school community. David, who was affectionately known as the “Mayor of West,” exemplified the Kenmore West spirit and was named Homecoming King his senior year. He also served as manager for both the football team and basketball team.

Sorrentino’s Sports Center, run by Joseph Sorrentino and Kevin Sorrentino, is a locally owned business that provides important services for students and families in the Ken-Ton community. Sorrentino’s offers skate sharpening, baseball/softball glove re-lacing, custom lettering, and much more. Some of the services they provide aren't available anywhere else. For example, virtually every hockey player and ice skater in our community has their skates sharpened at Sorrentino’s, and it’s the only location where players can acquire varsity jackets.

Each day, there are 26 locations in the Ken-Ton School District which are safeguarded by crossing guards. A total of 23 are staffed through the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and 3 additional locations are inside the village boundaries staffed by the Kenmore Police Department. Crossing guards play an important role by safeguarding the most dangerous intersections and helping to ensure that students can get to school safely. Crossing guards work in the morning and afternoon when students are traveling to and from school, no matter what the weather is like.
