Kenmore East & Kenmore West Students Win ACE Award
We were extremely proud to see Kenmore East High School student Raena Baglio and Kenmore West High School student Jackson Mangone receive the prestigious Erie-Niagara Sunrise Exchange Club ACE Award. ACE is short for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence and the award is for students who have demonstrated academic success while overcoming significant challenges.

As an eighth-grade student, Raena missed 110 days of school due to debilitating anxiety. She maintained a 90% GPA during this time and that academic success continues today. She has only missed four days this year and continues to keep her grades high. She was accepted into Buffalo State College where she will study social work.

Jackson has had many services throughout high school including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and vision therapy due to various diagnoses he has including autism and periventricular leukomalacia. Jackson has overcome these challenges on the way to earning an Advanced Regents Diploma this year. He intends to pursue a career in occupational therapy so he can help children overcome the same challenges he faced.
