Kenmore East Celebrates New Athletic Field Lights

Friday September 5th was a very exciting night as the Ken-Ton School District celebrated the long-awaited completion of the lights at the Kenmore East High School athletic field. This major investment will enhance the experience for Kenmore East athletes, coaches and the Ken-Ton community for years to come.

The school celebrated its new addition ahead of the Kenmore East varsity girls soccer team, who were hitting the field for the first time under the lights.

"This is the first season teams are able to host night games at Kenmore East which is a game-changer for our Ken-Ton Athletic Department" Superintendent Sabatino Cimato said. "It's an example of the district's continued focus on enriching the community and providing new opportunities for students and families.

"The addition of these lights represents more than just upgraded facilities; it demonstrates our continued commitment to creating opportunities and ensuring that our programs have the resources they need to grow," Ken-Ton Athletic Director Lindsay Bergman added.

Turning on the lights prior to Friday's girls varsity soccer game signified the completion of the athletic complex, which was part of the ongoing capital project. There is other work to celebrate at Kenmore East including a beautiful new, more secured single point of entry to enhance safety and security, amazing work to the facade of the building, new bus loop, new pick-up/drop-off lane, and redesigned parking lot to improve safety and traffic flow, all while work continues on the new roof and replacing water pipes.
