KE 'Join the Winners' Initiative Raises $3,000 for Kids Escaping Drugs

On Tuesday, May 19, the spirit of philanthropy was on full display at Kenmore East High School as students and faculty celebrated the culmination of their annual "Join the Winners" fundraising campaign.

Originally founded in 1994, "Join the Winners" remains the most widely attended event of the year at Kenmore East. By combining school spirit with a critical community cause, the program continues to teach students the value of civic engagement and collective action.

The centerpiece of this initiative is "Join the Winners Night," which is typically held on a Friday evening in March. The event is a long-standing Kenmore East tradition that transforms the gymnasium into a hub of high-energy competition. Students from grades 8 through 12 compete in a variety of relay races and games, earning points for their respective classes.

During a formal check presentation recently, club advisors Leah Rivas and Laura Eisenhauer and student leaders presented a $3,000 donation to Kids Escaping Drugs.
