Jen Burns, Franklin Elementary School Teacher

Franklin Elementary School would like to recognize Gr. 2 teacher Jennifer Burns as part of the Ken-Ton Weekly spotlight. Throughout her years as an educator, Mrs. Burns has always gone above and beyond for all of her students - past and present. As a teacher, Mrs. Burns' first priority is her students. She prides herself in presenting quality lessons that are not only engaging, but fun. She shares her love of cooking with her students by making herself available for "Cooking with Mrs. Burns" as a reward for positive behavior. Throughout her years, Mrs. Burns has given so much to our district and community. In the past, she has served as a winning varsity coach for the Kenmore East Girls Softball Team. As a colleague, she uses her own time to support teachers through her work as a union representative and mentor to new and seasoned teachers within the building as one of our ELA Committee Liaisons - she is always willing to support her fellow teachers in any way possible. Her light hearted, whimsey personality makes the sometimes stressful portion of teaching easier to navigate.
