KSDC

2025-2026 KSDC Participant Handbook

Staff Development Center Attendance Policies:

You must register before the start of a workshop in order to receive hours.

  • Partial Credit Policy (In-Person Classes Only)
    • The intention is always that staff complete a workshop fully. However, should there be an unanticipated emergency or illness, staff may receive partial credit if they have completed at least 2/3 of the hours of in-person workshops only. The decision for partial credit is made on a case-by-case basis. There is NO partial credit allowed for asynchronous, online classes.
  • Start Times
    • Being on time counts. Credits are deducted if participants are more than 15 minutes late or leave 15 or more minutes early.
  • Workshop Assignments
    • All workshop required activities must be completed ON TIME.
    • Instructors are not obligated to give credit for overdue submissions.
  • Post-Workshop Evaluations
    • Credits for KSDC workshops will be finalized to portfolios in Frontline after the instructor has confirmed attendance AND the participant has completed the Post-Workshop Evaluation within Frontline.
    • Evaluations will be active in Frontline on the last day of either in-person or asynchronous workshops. You can find it by clicking the Blue Manage button next to the activity title in your Learning Plan and choosing the option for the  KSDC Workshop Evaluation; to preview a pdf of this evaluation see the page 10 of the Participant Handbook linked at the top of this page.
    • The KSDC will send out a reminder, but it is up to participants to complete the evaluation online in order for the KSDC Credit Hours to be finalized.
    • These evaluations are so important for presenters and the KSDC to learn, grow and serve you better.
  • Target Audience
    • Registered participants must be part of the specified audience in a workshop's description in order to receive hours.
    • Staff who wish to take a workshop but are NOT in the specified audience can contact the Presenter directly, the Staff Center office or email the Director to ask for permission. The instructors set the target audience, and in consultation with them, we will decide if this request will be granted.
      • ALL REQUESTS FOR OUT-OF-TARGET AUDIENCE MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO A WORKSHOP'S START DATE.
    • Ken-Ton Staff receives preferential enrollment for all workshops sponsored by the Kenmore Staff Development Center.
  • Repeated Enrollment
    • Workshops can be retaken for FULL credit after a 3-year cycle. If workshops are taken for the second time in less than 3 years, 1/2 credit will be awarded. There are some exceptions, see page 3 of the Participant Handbook linked at the top of this page.
  • Annual Credit Accruals
    • Career credits are accumulated from the beginning of the summer session to the end of the Spring session of the same school year (ie. end of July 1, 2025- May 30, 2026). You are ultimately responsible for monitoring your completed hours in Frontline. As always reach out to the Center if you need assistance.
    • Administrators, Teachers (including Teaching Assistants and Term Subs.), Per diem Subs., and Support Staff all have different credit requirements. Make sure you have accurate information.
    • Staff who are out on leave will not be eligible to take workshops for hours toward a stipent.
