French Exchange

A total of 19 students from Kenmore East and Kenmore West and their teachers Andreas Kunz, Eileen Sauret, and Olivia Woodruff traveled to Europe in spring 2025 as part of a foreign exchange partnership with St. François d'Assise High School in La Roche-sur-Yon, a town in Western France. This trip followed a visit to the Ken-Ton area by St. François d'Assise High School students in October 2024. Ken-Ton students experienced school life in France by attending classes, eating school lunch in the cafeteria, and meeting the principal and teachers. Outside of school, students spent the week with their host families and visited several historic and cultural locations. School activities included a visit to an oyster park and salt marshes at Noirmoutier, sand yachting on the beach, and guided tours. They also learned about cultural traditions, sampled French specialities, and explored the region of Pays de la Loire. The trip allowed students to apply their French speaking skills with host students, families, and in shops.
