The Reading RoomSeptember 8, 2014, was International Literacy Day. In celebration, and since we often find our next book from a recommendation, students in my classes suggested titles and authors that they considered "good reads." In addition to the titles below, students mentioned favorite authors as Rick Riordan, Stephen King, Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Remember, not every book is for every person. You need to check it out and make that decision for yourself.Among the Hidden seriesArtemis FowlBefore I FallBetween Shades of GrayThe Book ThiefCongoCrashedThe Darkest MindsThe Divergent seriesThe Drowning InstinctThe Eleventh PlagueEragonThe Fault in Our StarsThe Glass CastleThe Girl Next DoorGirl StolenThe GiverGoneThe Harry Potter seriesHit and RunThe Hitchhiker's Guide to the GalaxyThe HobbitHolesThe House of Hades by Rick RiordanThe Hunger Games seriesFoundI Funny by James PattersonIf I StayThe Inheritance CycleThe Invention of Hugo CabretJourney to the Center of the EarthJurasic ParkThe Juvie Three by Gordon KormanThe Lightening Thief seriesThe LimitLockdownLooking for AlaskaThe Lost HeroMatched seriesThe Maze RunnerThe Maximum RideNo Safety in NumbersNumber the StarsOld YellerThe OutsidersPaper TownsPercy Jackson seriesPeter Pan in ScarletRunning Out of TimeSchooledThe SelectionShilohStolenSummer of RileyThe UnwindWill Grayson, Will GraysonWitch and Wizard seriesWonder
