BUFFALO STATE COLLEGE – PHYSICS SCHOLARHIPS
Eligibility: Seniors that plan on majoring in Physics at Buffalo State may apply.
Awards: $4,000 per year
Deadline: not available
BUFFALO URBAN LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Seniors or recent HSE Diploma recipients (within the current year) who plan on attending college may apply. To be eligible, you must have an acceptance letter for the college you are planning on attending in the fall and you must have applied for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov)
Awards: $250 to $4,000
Deadline: March 13
CANISIUS COLLEGE STUDIO ART SCHOLARSHIPS
Eligibility: Seniors that will be attending Canisius and plan to minor in studio art or have a concentration in studio art as a major may apply.
Awards: $1,500 (renewable every four years)
Deadline: February 14
CHARACTER COUNCIL OF WESTERN NEW YORK
Eligibility: Seniors that exemplify character in their daily lives and who will be attending a trade school or college may apply.
Awards: numerous $1,000 cash scholarships
Deadline: postmarked by February 25
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR GREATER BUFFALO
Eligibility: Seniors that have at least “C” average may apply.
Awards: numerous awards with varying amounts (up to $6,000)
Deadline: April 30
EIGHTH DISTRICT FEDERATED GARDEN CLUBS OF NEW YORK STATE
Eligibility: Seniors who will be enrolling in a two or four-year college and plan to major in agriculture, botany, conservation, environmental science, forestry, horticulture, or wildlife science may apply.
Deadline: postmarked by March 31
EMBRACE OF WESTERN NEW YORK SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Applicants must be a graduate or have received their GED and must have been actively involved in an LGBT/Allies type of organization (in college, trade school or high school GSA) Seniors: take an application and save it for when you are enrolled in college or trade school!
Awards: a minimum of $1,500
Deadline: There is NO deadline. Applications are reviewed four times per year.
ERIE COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT OFFICERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Seniors that have exemplified community involvement may apply. Preference will be given to students who assist in the emergency services and are matriculating in the Emergency Services Fields of Fire or EMS may apply.

FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK

HOME SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (HAS) OF KENMORE WEST BLUE DEVIL
Eligibility: Seniors may apply. This is NOT an academic scholarship. An essay is required.

KIDS PLAY SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Seniors that have participated in at least one session of Kids Play program may apply. Applicants can be applying to a two or four- year college.

McLERNON MEMORIAL UB ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: This scholarship is awarded to a Kenmore West Senior that plan on attending the University of Buffalo in the engineering program.
Awards: up to $2,000
Deadline: March 31
NEW YORK STATE 2020-21 EXCELSIOR SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Seniors that will be pursuing a two or four-year degree and going to a State University of New York (SUNY) may apply. Families must make less than $125,000 per year.
NEW YORK STATE SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS
Eligibility: The Li S.Liu, Prof. Engineer, Memorial Scholarship is given annually to a high school senior from Western New York who is accepted into an accredited engineering program.
Awards: numerous awards ranging from $500 to $1,500
Deadline: March 20
NEW YORK WATER ENVIRONMENT ASSOCIATION OF WESTERN NEW
Eligibility: Seniors that will be pursuing a degree in an environmental related curriculum such as biology, forestry, chemistry, engineering, and water/wastewater treatment may apply.
Awards: Three $1, 500, one $1,250, and one $1,000 awards
Deadline: March 18
SOMEBODY’S SOMEONE – A KENMORE WEST SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: This scholarship was established by parents that have lost their children from an accidental drug overdose. Kenmore West seniors that have an overall average of 80 or above may apply. Applicants must submit an essay on why they deserve the scholarship, inclusive of how substance abuse disorder has affected their life or others close to them.
Awards: two $400 scholarships will be awarded

SOUTHWESTERN ASSOCIATION OF VOLUNTEER FIREMEN
Eligibility: Seniors that are a member, junior member, ladies’ auxiliary member or Fire Explorer of a SWAVF member fire department OR be the child or grandchild of an active member, ladies’ auxiliary member, or exempt member of a SWAVF member fire department OR be the child or grandchild of an Officer, Past Officer, Committee Member, Life Member, or Annually Registered member of the SWAVF or SWAVF Ladies’ auxiliary may apply.
Awards: one $600 award and three $150 awards

STUDENT INSIGHTS SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: Applicants must complete a 15-20 minute survey about colleges in your area.
Awards: one $5,000, two $1,000, and ten $500 scholarships
Deadline: April 22
TASTE OF BUFFALO POSTER ART CONTEST
Eligibility: Students 13 years old and up may enter.
Deadline: April 3
TYCZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (A VETERAN SCHOLARSHIP)
Eligibility: Seniors who have a relative who is/was a veteran (Reservists who have completed 180 continuous days of service are considered veterans) may apply. Applicants must also demonstrate academic achievement and community service.

ZONTA CLUB OF KENMORE
Eligibility: Female seniors that will be attending a two or four- year college may apply. Award will be based on a combination of applicant’s scholastic ability, participation in extracurricular activities and need for financial assistance.
Award: minimum of $1,000
Deadline: must be returned to Zonta Club by February 21
ZONTA INTERNATIONAL – YOUNG WOMEN IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Eligibility: Female seniors with an interest in a career with leadership positions in social policymaking, government, and volunteer organizations may apply.
Award: numerous awards of $1,000 - $4,000
