    This has been my new crusade.  You'll find interviews from leading researchers, historians and educators on the history of the code and the problems associated with it.  You'll also find video that will keep you glued to your seat. More American children suffer long-term life-harm as a consequence of reading difficulties than from parental abuse, accidents, and all other childhood diseases and disorders combined.  In purely economic terms, reading related difficulties cost our nation more than the war on terrorism, crime, and drugs combined.
     
    The mission of the FCRR is to conduct basic research on reading, reading growth, reading assessment, and reading instruction that will contribute to the scientific knowledge of reading and benefit students in Florida and throughout the nation.  There is an amazing amount of activities you can use in your classroom or at home.
