Ride for Missing Children Bike Riders Visit Hoover Elementary School
The Ride for Missing Children is a 100-mile bike ride throughout Erie County coordinated by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. These riders stop at schools along the route to reinforce their child abduction prevention message.
Their mascot, “Clicky,” came with a DJ to sing and dance with the students. The bikes rolled in escorted by law enforcement with sirens blaring, motorcycles, police cars, and ambulances. Students and staff greatly enjoyed the experience.
This was just one of many fun and educational activities Hoover Elementary students were able to enjoy in May. Hoover Elementary students recently had the opportunity to take part in an HSA-sponsored fundraiser, the Fun Run, in which students found sponsors to contribute based on the laps they ran in physical education class.
Third-grade students traveled to the Buffalo Science Museum to complement their study of ecosystems and habitats, and second-graders attended Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village to learn more about westward expansion to complement the ELA domain.
Jill Kinney's kindergarten class also performed a play called the “I Love You Revue."
