Holmes Elementary Students Enjoy All That Downtown Library Has to Offer
It was a great day for the students. They toured the building, including the children’s section, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs, even where rare and historic books are kept. They also had the opportunity to enjoy many different fun, educational, hands-on activities which are part of the library’s Launch Pad MakerSpace such as robotics, 3D printers, toys and games, and be part of superhero-themed pictures using a green screen.
Students earned the trip by raising $1,200 for the library through a bake sale at Praxair, which is part of a successful mentoring program with the school. This was just one of many examples of opportunities made possible through the school’s partnership with Praxair and the dedication of Praxair employees. The students presented the check to library officials during the visit.
The students were all presented with library cards and learned more about the library’s summer reading program which they all worked hard to support.
